Second Annual DYC Golf Outing - June 27th

After last year's successful Golf Fundraiser the Detroit Yacht Club has decided to do it again. Proceeds benefit the Gold Cup races. Open to everyone regardless of golfing ability - just come out and have fun!

The format is 4 Man Scramble, 18 holes. Mixed and ladies teams are welcome.

Friday June 27th at the Coyote Golf Club
28700 Milford Road, New Hudson MI, 48165

$130 per person includes:
- 18 holes of golf with cart
- Hot dog, chips and pop at the turn
- BBQ chicken dinner with beer served after 18 (cash bar)
- One trophy awarded to the best overall score for Men or Mixed team
- One trophy awarded to Ladies Only team
- Prizes also awarded for closest to the pin and longest drive
- Raffles, picture with APBA Gold Cup trophy, and more

New Feature Events Announced

Just announced: The 5 Litre hydroplanes will be racing on the Detroit River again after a many year hiatus. It looks like the last time they were here was in 2006. These are powered by stock small-block engines and are one of THE most competitive classes in the APBA. The Detroit River is big water for them so it will be a battle against competitors and the river itself - it should be exciting! A page has been set up for competitors and fans:

Also expected is Mario Maraldo in his Baby Doll III Grand Prix boat running exhibition laps. The GPs are just one step down from the Unlimiteds and they run big-block engines with superchargers. Baby Doll III is one of the loudest boats I've ever heard, and is really something to see! You can find some photos here:

Mowing and Cleanup This Saturday

There is a lot to do and everyone is welcome to show up and pitch in. Hot lunch is provided. The official schedule:

May 17th and 31st
June 14th and 28th
July 5th

In addition to the official dates there will be people working on one thing or another all the other weekends.

Please call the offices each week prior to let us know if you're planning on coming so we can make sure we have food for everyone. If we don't pick up just leave a message or contact us.
